# Collections

Browse owned and collected media from connected providers.

Collections is the unified view of media owned or collected across connected providers.

{% hint style="info" %}
Collections uses provider collection or library data. It is separate from Watchlist, watched History, and unfinished Playback.
{% endhint %}

### Summary

The cards at the top show:

* **Movies owned**
* **Shows owned**
* **Providers connected**
* **Items total**

### Find and filter media

Use the following filters:

* Search
* Media type: **Movies**, **Shows**, **Seasons**, or **Episodes**
* Provider

Sort results by:

* Recently added or oldest added
* Title, from A–Z or Z–A
* Year, newest or oldest first

### Views

Collections supports:

* **Timeline**, useful when sorting by added date
* **Grid**
* **List**

List view includes columns such as poster, title, release, genre, added date, type, and providers. You can resize column widths.

Choose 24, 48, 72, or 96 items per page.

### Remove collection entries

If you have write permission, select individual items, visible items, or all matching results. You can then remove entries from selected providers.

Available actions depend on the selected providers and their capabilities.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="End users" %}
Use Collections to compare which providers contain your owned or collected media.

Timeline works best with an added-date sort order.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Power users" %}
Collections is available at `/profile#collection`.

The page reads from `/api/profile/collection`.

Local view preferences are stored under `cw.profile.collection`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://wiki.crosswatch.app/crosswatch/main-dashboard/navigation/profile/collections.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
