Ratings

Configure ratings sync, scope, library filtering and backfill windows.

Ratings syncs rating values.

Some providers also track rated_at.

Basics

Option	What it does
Enable	Compare ratings and write them to the target.
Add / Update	Write new ratings and rating changes to the target.
Remove (clear)	Clear ratings on the target. Destructive, only for very specific needs.

Scope

Option	What it does
All	Sync ratings for movies, shows, seasons and episodes.
Movies	Sync movie ratings.
Shows	Sync show ratings.
Seasons	Sync season ratings.
Episodes	Sync episode ratings.
Specials (Season 0)	Include Season 0 seasons and episodes. Turn it off to skip them on both sides of the pair. On by default.
Only items in destination library	Skip new ratings for titles that are not in your media server library. Plex and Kodi only. Off by default. See below.

Types a provider does not support are greyed out.

Only items in destination library

Trackers hold ratings for everything you ever rated.

Your media server only has part of that.

Without this option, CrossWatch tries to write all of them and most of them fail.

With this option, CrossWatch checks your library first and leaves out what is not there.

Compatibility

This option applies only when the listed provider is the destination.

In a two-way pair, it filters only the direction that writes to Plex or Kodi.

You see it when

• The destination is Plex or Kodi.
• Or the pair is two-way and one side is Plex or Kodi.

Jellyfin and Emby do not have it. CrossWatch does not sync ratings to them.

Enabled

• Interactive Sync only shows ratings that can actually be written.
• No write attempts for titles your server does not have.
• Missing titles no longer fill up unresolved and blackbox.
• A title you add to your library later gets its rating on the next sync.
• Much faster on Plex with a large tracker history. A failed lookup costs a request per title, the library check does not.

Disabled (default)

• Sync works as it always has.
• Every rating is attempted, including title matching when Strict ID matching is off.
• Missing titles show as unresolved and get blackboxed after three failed runs.
• Interactive Sync lists every rating from the tracker.

Rating changes are always synced. If you change a rating from 6 to 7, the title is already rated on your server, so it is never skipped.

Only brand new ratings are checked against your library.

The check matches on IDs only. A title that is in your library under a different ID is skipped too.

Leave it off if your library has missing or wrong IDs.

Good to know

• Skipped items show in Interactive Sync as Not in library. They are hidden by default, with a count you can click.
• On Plex it checks movies, shows, seasons and episodes. On Kodi it checks movies and episodes.
• Your Ratings library whitelist still applies. A title in a library that is not whitelisted counts as not in the library.
• Items without any usable ID are not checked. They sync the same way as before.

Anime options

These show when the pair has an anime tracker.

Option	What it does
Use Anime ID Mapping	Match anime through the local Anime ID database. Needs global Anime ID Mapping to be enabled first.
Anime-only sync	Only sync ratings for items that Anime ID Mapping can confirm as anime. Other items are skipped before a title search. Shows when AniList can receive items.

AniList ratings behavior

CrossWatch uses the same ID resolution process before it writes or clears a rating.

With Anime-only sync enabled, ratings lacking usable AniList or MAL IDs are skipped.

That applies to both updates and clears.

Backfill window

Mode	What it does
All	Backfill everything.
From a date	Backfill only ratings from that date onwards.

On some providers, rating a movie can affect completion state.

Use a narrow date window for large backfills.

SIMKL heads-up

Rating a movie on SIMKL auto-marks it as Completed.

It can then appear under Recently watched and My List.

Prefer small windows when backfilling.

Advanced

These are tuning settings. The defaults are fine for most setups.

Ratings below Liked from are not sent to Stremio.
